I enjoy reading books I can finish in one day.  So here is a list of the books I’ve read over the years that helped me refocus, get energized, and become more objective about my leadership.  Some books are available on paperback (Amazon only) and/or digital download.

One of my all time favorite books.  Very simple and straight forward read.  Those who continue to adapt and find solutions are the ones who find the cheese (success).  Waiting for someone or something to change your situation is why people fail.  Go out and find the cheese.

This book is my favorite.  If you are a micro-manager and continue struggling to get results, this is the book for you.  The book is an easy ready and helps leaders realize they fail because they refuse to delegate (monkeys) and empower their teams.  A must read!

 

 


Strength Finder 2.0

One of my favorite leadership books.  A very quick read you can complete in one sitting.  Helps you identify your strengths using 34 of the most common talents as well as strategies for applying them.  Also, contains online assessment to help you identify your top 5 strengths.  I read this book at least once a year.

I read this book for the first time about 15 years ago.  It had a profound affect on me.  After reading the book, I realized how much my lack of personal accountability was hurting my career.  A year later my surge of promotions began.  It’s a much older book but definitely worth finding. The Five Dysfunctions of a Team

The book takes a very insightful look at team dynamics.  Looking at the dysfunctions helped me realize some of the current dysfunctions I’ve experienced but also helped me realize at some point in my career I was the one being dysfunctional.  A great read for those who value teamwork.
